Well, it’s that time of year again and Christmas tree permits for the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest start on October 10th and end on Dec 24th. You can purchase permits at The Apache Sitgreaves National Forests Supervisors Office, all five ranger districts and the Mogollon Rim Visitors Center on the SR260 at the top of the rim near the Woods Canyon Lake turnoff. You can also purchase your permit though the mail. Permits are $15 for a tree up to 10 feet tall. For trees over 10 feet tall, you must contact the Ranger District Office and make arrangements. Also call ahead of time to to verify hours of operation.

- Food and water for everyone on the trip
- Matches, flares or other fire starting items
- Shovel in case you get stuck
